A group of 30 women workers participated in the awareness session
conducted by Mr. Michael Marshall, of Sahara Centre for Residential Care &
Rehabilitation.
The participants, as we noticed in the beginning of session, were mostly
ignorant about HIV & AIDS and the various issues that relate to
germination and progression of these.
During the session three participants namely, Ms. Sulekha Rani, Ms. Sushma and Ms. Geeta Kashyap,
took keen interest and asked came out with specific myths they had heard
about people living with HIV and methods of transmission.
After learning about the methods of transmission, they also
expressed their concern that the doctors in the local clinics at their area of residence, do not pay
heed and use the same needle for injecting more than one person. They were eager to know
what could be done to prevent the doctors from doing so.
At the end of the session, the participants response indicated that they
had found the session informative and useful.
