As a part of the run-up campaign to India
Denim Day, an awareness session was organized at Eicher School,
Faridabad.
The awareness session
was conducted by Mr. Michael Marshall, of Sahara Centre for Residential Care &
Rehabilitation.
The students were provided information on HIV & AIDS, the difference
between HIV and AIDS, the methods of transmission of HIV. The students
were also sensitised on the need to support People living with HIV and the
significance of reducing the levels of stigma and discrimination directed at
People living with HIV.

Poster making and a
debate competition were also held at the school. The topic for debate was How can the
awareness of HIV and AIDS be raised most effectively; by targeting civil
society at large or only high risk groups. Each speaker was allowed
two plus one minute for presenting their arguments.
There were a total of
12 participants. The winners of the debate competition are Ms. Shubham
1st Place, Ms. Chetna 2nd place and Ms. Shivani and 3rd
Place. The winners would be given prizes at the culminating
event being held on 1st December, 2008. |
